This overlay map was produced by our Natural Resources Conservation Agent (NRCS). He took our aerial (also called a strip map) and superimposed the Lane (driveway) and the perimeter of the proposed pond. He used a portable GPS and walked the areas of measure. He would mark numerous waypoints on the GPS, including a few of the property boundary corner markers. Having these corner markers pinpointed on the GPS allowed him to position the other waypoints accurately on the aerial. When he took all this GPS data, the driveway was completed and the pondsite had been cleared of timber. He just walked the center of the driveway and followed the perimeter treeline of the pondsite.
